In like fin(Beijing weekend)
Updated: 2007-05-21 10:35 A new menu featuring seasonal vegetables heralds the arrival of summer at the French Bistro at The Great Wall Sheraton Hotel Beijing - in the dishes. German chef Simon Probst has created dishes using white asparagus, artichokes, and avocado. "These are the same fresh vegetables available at the time on the market in France," said the chef. The new menu presents two ways of cooking white asparagus and avocado, and three dishes featuring avocado. White asparagus with crepe and spinach is typical European fare. Panfried blue fin tuna with avocado and chili vinaigrette is a light-tasting and healthy dish, especially because of its base of mashed vegetable. Spicy artichokes risotto with red wine is not actually heavy on the spice. The artichoke is pan-fried and has a strong taste. The promotion ends in late May, but asparagus will be available until the end of June, artichoke until the end of July, and avocado until August. Average spending is from 500-600 yuan, inclusive of three courses, and a good cup of wine. Opening hours: 6-10:30 pm. |
