After successful launches at Shanghai's Bund Center and Xintiandi, the exclusive jazz bar and restaurant CJW has now opened shop at Beijing's The Place –the newest chic outlet in the capital. Beijing's CJW covers over 1,700 meters. In addition to the Western restaurant and jazz bar like the ones in Shanghai, Beijing's CJW also has six KTV rooms fitted with the best in audio equipment and a first class cigar bar. An expert foreign chef has been employed to personally create delicious Continental cuisine such as Italian insalata del pomodoro e del formaggio. The daily live jazz performances at CJW Beijing are provided by groups hailing from Europe and America.

Cigars, jazz, wine: a tasty trio of luxurious pastimes combined at CJW. Believe it or not, the bar is blessed with an extensive menu of authentic cigars (RMB 120 and upwards) and international wines (some costing RMB 70 by the glass, others RMB 8,600 by the bottle). It goes without saying that these particular pursuits won't be to the liking of everyone's wallet. Top-level prices are complemented by the bar's confused 1980s-style decor – a dark, smoky, neon accented lovechild of a cinema, hotel and nightclub, with a double helping of a Bond villain's lair. Otherwise, the bar is generously proportioned and very comfortable for its patrons, but the expense does not sit as easily as these customers. Essentially, if your penchant for jazz rests on celebrated flautist-cum-anchorman Ron Burgundy, then CJW is probably not the place for you.
