Renew the old

M2 follows in the giant footsteps of its enormously successful sibling, Muse. The club's sleek, all-white interior and minimalist decor unashamedly recall the days when this space belonged to Wynn Win. But to its credit, M2 offers a distinctive and energetic scene.

The dance floor was surprisingly full when we paid a weeknight visit; the well-dressed crowd perfectly matched the sensual, upscale atmosphere. To our delight, the Coconut Caipiroska (RMB 68) was refreshing, with a subdued tropical flavor. And the Muse Mojito (RMB 60) was refreshing, with plenty of ice and fresh mint leaves.

Nevertheless, we were busily enjoying our drinks when we caught sight of the dancers, clad in ethnic costumes and performing tribal-style dances to rhythmic house music. It was well past midnight, but it appeared that the party had just begun.
