Blue blood(That's Shanghai)
Updated: 2007-11-15 14:24 Franklin Roosevelt’s grandson is a partner in this sumptuous Marshall Mansions restaurant. And much like his careful selection of FDR photos hung on the mahogany-paneled walls, the chefs here have painstakingly chosen only the finest cuts of top-grade USDA Prime beef. In short, a meal here is a heavenly splurge. At RMB 39,000 per bottle, the 2002 Napa Screaming Eagle Cabernet Sauvignon heads an impressive list of nearly 100 wines. In all, the fare is not light: the onion soup is topped with a thick pastry crust and all but one steak weighs in at 16oz or more. This probably isn't the best choice for a first date, but with its cigar lounge and rustic private rooms, Roosevelt is decidedly a manly paradise, where appetites are as big as billfolds. Roosevelt |
