Eat in a bazaar

The restaurant's narrow, split-level dining room, crowded with tables and exquisite decorative touches, evokes the mood of a North African bazaar.

Indeed, the effect is visually and aurally seductive, making this a perfect restaurant for romantics with an unwavering sense of cool. Such wonderful first impressions encouraged us to order more than we could possibly eat. Our harira (chick pea and lamb soup, RMB 35) was delightful, with a balanced flavor and hearty bits of lamb.

Next, the open-pit barbequed chicken (RMB 48) was deliciously smoked and perfectly moist. Unfortunately, though, the fish tangine (RMB 88) was soupy and homogenous, tasting like it had been cooked in a soup pot rather than baked in a tangine. That aside, our meal was delightful, and we look forward to our next visit.
