For your feetBy Jimmy Choo (That's Shanghai)
Updated: 2007-12-19 10:13 As part of the brand's global vision, Jimmy Choo is focusing on new markets; hence the confident step into China with an enchanting purple boutique at Plaza 66. Soft-toned carpets, white leather sofas, crystal chandeliers and side-tables all set off the glamor of the 2007-08 A/W collection's skinny-heeled stilettos and elegant purses. "I hope customers will feel like they’re entering a lady's dressing room when they come to the store," says designer and president Tamara Mellon. This is Jimmy Choo's 68th store after first opening in Knightsbridge, London a decade ago and quickly winning a loyal following with the global glitterati. In honor of the anniversary, the latest collections introduce a new stiletto heel dubbed Basquiat with a distinctive, chiseled shape. The classic pump stilettos and strappy sandals have also been reworked and modernized in the line-up of Chelsea shoes, while handbag collections highlight a new series of designs called Mali, which feature soft, capacious designs and straps that can either be hand or shoulder hung.
