Cristiano Ronaldo scored twice as the Premier League champion swept aside out-classed Wigan 4-0 to go top of the table for the first time this season.

But a sixth consecutive league victory came at a price, as Nemanja Vidic, John O'Shea and Louis Saha joined the growing number of the club's walking wounded - which now numbers 12.
