Hard nuts yet to crack: Envoy

The deployment of a UN-AU hybrid peacekeeping force in Darfur is a positive move but there remain many hard nuts to crack, China's special envoy for Darfur said.

There is little room for complacency at this point considering the technical and political barriers ahead, Liu Guijin told China Daily.

Despite efforts so far made by the the international community, peacekeeping missions in Darfur has made slow progress as logistical support, such as helicopters and air-freighters, are not in place yet, he noted.
