Phillies manager eager to beat 'son' Ramirez

PHILADELPHIA: Charlie Manuel has a soft spot for Dodgers slugger Manny Ramirez but the Philadelphia Phillies manager said there would be no room for sentiment when the National League Championship Series starts on Thursday.

"Manny is like my son. I've been around him a long time," Manuel told reporters on Wednesday. "He's an extraordinary talent and he loves to hit.

"He's the guy we don't want beating us."
