A taste of Tibet
Tibet Caf is among the few nightspots in Beijing where patrons can snack on yak jerky and tsamba barley cakes, washed down with caterpillar fungus and golden root-infused concoctions.
The place is a virtual shrine to the autonomous region, a temple of tipple loaded with Tibetan prayer flags, prayer wheels and handicrafts.
The dcor stops short of camp - just. With the inclusion of two small stuffed yaks, the decorators seemed to dip a toe - or perhaps, a hoof - into the territory of tackiness, but stopped before going too far.
