Mainland stocks close higher on property, finance

The mainland's main stock index ended 2.25 percent higher yesterday, led by financial and property shares as expectations mounted for further monetary easing after data showed a drop in inflation and slowing economic growth.

The Shanghai Composite Index ended at 1974.006 points, off the day's low of 1890.920, a one-month intraday low.

Turnover in Shanghai A shares rose to 32.0 billion yuan from Friday's 26.1 billion yuan.
