ALTA BADIA, Italy: Daniel Albrecht of Switzerland won the men's World Cup giant slalom on Sunday, the fourth win of his career and second this season after the opener at Solden, Austria.

He finished in 2 minutes 32.71 seconds, 00.12 secs clear of second-placed Ivica Kostelic of Croatia with Austria's Hannes Reichelt in third place 00.33 secs back.

But it was Albrecht's better-known Swiss compatriot Didier Cuche who led the way after the first leg with Albrecht closely tucked in behind in second place and Ted Ligety of the United States in third.
