French workers release 4 managers

China Daily | Updated: 2009-04-09 07:42

PARIS: French workers have released four managers they had held captive at a British-run factory in a labor dispute over the plant's closure.

Ian Bushell, Scapa Group PLC's European finance director, says the managers were allowed to leave the site to attend negotiations yesterday at the local mayor's office. He says workers will not sequester the managers again when they return to the work site.

Employees of Britain's Scapa Group PLC barred the senior managers from leaving on Tuesday after negotiations over terms of the closure broke down.
