Young officials vulnerable to bribes

GUANGZHOU: Young officials are the segment of society most vulnerable to corruption, a top disciplinary official in this southern city warned yesterday.

Su Zhijia, Guangzhou disciplinary chief, said at a government work meeting that as many as 127 officials aged between 31 and 45 had been found to have violated laws and regulations in the city in the past two years.

"Young officials have become major targets for bribes," Su said.
