GM loses $6 billion in Q1

General Motors Corp said it burned through $10.2 billion in the first quarter, operating under a federal bailout, as auto sales fell across the globe.

The automaker yesterday posted a quarterly net loss of $6 billion, compared with a loss of $3.3 billion a year earlier.

Revenue dropped by almost half to $22.4 billion as sales plunged in North America, Europe, Asia and Latin America.
