Taiwan yesterday confirmed a 52-year-old doctor had tested positive for the A(H1N1) influenza, while an Italian woman in Tibet was given the all clear following tests for the disease.
The doctor, the first confirmed case on the island, is a foreign national who arrived on Monday night, local media reported, and was in a stable condition.
He had flown from New York to Hong Kong on Cathay Pacific flight CX831, and arrived at Taiwan Taoyuan International Airport in Taoyuan County aboard flight CX468 the same day.
