DPRK tests another missile, warns UN

By Li Xiaokun | China Daily | Updated: 2009-05-30 07:58

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) test-fired another short-range missile on Friday and said it would take "self-defense" action if the UN Security Council imposes tougher sanctions on it.

The missile was fired from the Musudan-ni launch site on DPRK's east coast, a Republic of Korea (ROK) government official said. It is the latest in a series of missiles the DPRK has test-fired since conducting a nuclear test on Monday, and comes as the UN Security Council members are meeting to consider new sanctions against the country.

"If the UN Security Council makes further provocations, we will have no choice but to take additional self-defense measures," the DPRK's official KCNA news agency quoted its Foreign Ministry spokesman as having said.
