SHANGHAI: With a young coach and a group of new faces in the starting line-up, underdogs China put on an impressive show of offensive soccer, drawing their friendly game with Germany 1-1 here on Friday.
Using speed, effective moves and precise short passes, China looked like a much better team than Germany and were near Germany's goal on a number of occasions after midfielder Hao Junmin scored just five minutes into the game.
Coach Gao Hongbo, who made his debut with the game, showed immense faith in the younger players, who seemed a lot more professional than the rather inexperienced Germany, who were missing Michael Ballack and Miroslav Klose
