Mickelson puts another near miss in perspective
FARMINGDALE, New York: Phil Mickelson finished US Open runner-up for an unprecedented fifth time at Bethpage Black but the big left-hander spent no time feeling sorry for himself.
"Certainly I'm disappointed, but now that it's over, I've got more important things going on," said Mickelson, who will rejoin his wife, Amy, for a family vacation before she begins breast cancer treatment on July 1.
Mickelson surged into a tie for the lead at four under par with an eagle at the 13th before bogeys at the 15th and 17th dropped him two strokes behind winner Lucas Glover.
