Bus crash survivors in 'stable condition'

All 54 survivors of a fatal bus crash in Hunan province are in stable condition, local officials said yesterday.

A newborn baby was among 17 passengers killed on Friday when the private coach they were in overturned and plunged into a ditch at 9:10 am, two hours' drive from Qiyang county.

"The injured people are getting better and being closely monitored by doctors in hospitals in nearby Yongzhou," said a Qiyang county publicity official surnamed Wang.
