China, Vietnam make border progress

China and Vietnam signed a package of agreements on the demarcation of their 1,300-km land boundary yesterday.

Vice-Foreign Minister Wu Dawei and his Vietnamese counterpart Ho Xuan Son inked the deals on behalf of their governments. Foreign Minister Yang Jiechi attended the ceremony.

The two vice-foreign ministers said the countries will try to solve the issue of the correct location of their border at sea through diplomatic negotiations.
