Guangdong Special: Province land reclamation program hailed as pioneering move in China

Guangzhou Science City, the new center of Luogang district with a planned land area of 22.74 sq km. It is aiming to become a leading center for the hi-end technology industry as part of Guangzhou's strategy of developing its eastern districts.

GUANGZHOU: The South China province of Guangdong is making considerable efforts to reclaim land from the sea and convert hillsides into arable land as a way to use its agricultural resources more efficiently and intensively.
