Chinese media progressing well, say US scribes
The media in China has made great strides, but still faces hurdles, such as informational restrictions, culture of privacy and newsroom management, a team of five prominent US journalists that visits the country regularly said on Friday.
But the team agreed it was difficult for US journalists to accurately assess the Chinese media because of language barriers and the brevity of their visits.
The group from the prestigious Missouri School of Journalism (MSJ), which has sent media experts to China for about a decade, lauded Chinese newspapers' increasing openness, innovation and entrepreneurial spirit.
