Mainland sends sympathy to Taiwan after earthquake

The State Council Taiwan Affairs Office yesterday expressed its condolences after a 6.7-magnitude earthquake that struck waters off Hualien in eastern Taiwan island on Saturday, killed one person and injured 12. Compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait are attached to each other like brothers, the office said.
