Governor claims 12% GDP growth amid global crisis

Despite the impact of the international financial crisis, Shandong province registered "significant achievements in economic development, with a steady uptrend in major economic indicators", Governor Jiang Daming said at the third session of the 11th People's Congress in Shandong.
Provincial GDP grew 11.9 percent in 2009 to 3.4 trillion yuan while local fiscal revenue increased 12.3 percent to 219.85 billion yuan.
At the same time per capita disposable income for urban residents reached 17,811 yuan, up by 9.2 percent. Rural capita net income averaged 6,119 yuan, up by 8.5 percent.
