ABU DHABI - Oscar Pistorius is probably the most well-known sportsman with a disability in the world as the amputee sprinter almost became the first athlete to compete at both the Olympics and Paralympics in 2008.
For his efforts, the 23-year-old was invited to present this year's Laureus Award for the leading Sportsperson with a Disability to South African swimmer Natalie du Toit at the awards ceremony here on Wednesday.
The four-time Paralympics gold medalist has never won or even been nominated for the award, although he was nominated for Breakthrough of the Year in 2008.
