Businesses search for food security solutions

XIAMEN, Fujian - Food security remains a threat for the future, businesses were told on Tuesday as they were urged to invest in agricultural technologies.

Global food security remains "fragile", and "more than 1 billion people are suffering from chronic hunger" today, said Martin Taylor, chairman of Syngenta, a large Switzerland-based agribusiness company.

Taylor made the remarks at the World Leader Investment Summit and the World Investment Forum. The summit discussed issues concerning the sustainable development of the world economy.
