High hopes and future goals

Editor's Note: New Year is a time when people look back to the past for experience, encouragement or inspiration and look ahead for new hopes and opportunities. China Daily talks with a variety of people about their wishes and hopes for 2011:

"The year 2011 will see the beginning of China's 12th Five-Year Plan (2011-2015), when a set of new targets for pollution reduction, energy efficiency and carbon intensity will be unveiled.The international community has high expectations for China's new plans, as the central government is obviously determined to shift the country's growth pattern into a cleaner and more sustainable mode. However, this will never be an easy task."
