China's head coach, Bob Donewald, blasted the event organizers and the media after a failed campaign at the 2011 Stankovic Continental Cup.
"We can't play eight games in nine days when we are not healthy. It (the schedule) is for people to make money, not to get the team ready for the (Asia) championships," Donewald said.
"We were injured before coming here and we are more injured now. Fatigue causes the injuries. The Stankovic Cup can get mad (about my words), but this is not good for Team China," said an angry Donewald after losing to Russia, 70-45, on Monday. Disappointed spectators even shouted "Fire Bob" during the fourth quarter.
