Westin and Sheraton name head of new ski resort complex

A lodging and resort complex in Jilin province's Changbaishan International Tourism Area operated by the Westin and Sheraton hotels has appointed a 40-year hospitality veteran to head operations at the new facilities scheduled to open in July.

Managing Director Johnny Mathis has held senior management positions with Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts, InterContinental Hotels Group, the Peninsula Group, Leading Hotels of the World and others.

"He possesses very rich experience in preparing for the launch of new hotels after previously opening 11 international hotels and resorts," the companies say in a statement.
