Qinghai Special: Province hopes fair can help fund greening of economy

To attract the capital needed to create an economy based on green technology, Qinghai is hosting the ongoing 2012 China Qinghai Green Economy Investment and Trade Fair, scheduled to run until June 13 in the provincial capital Xining.

This event marks another milestone in the province's strategy of restructuring its economy based on sustainable principles. The term "green economy" was first incorporated into the fair's name in 2010.

"On the heels of the IT revolution, green economy will emerge as another powerhouse of development," said Qiang Wei, secretary of the Qinghai Provincial Committee of the Communist Party of China.
