Travelers' blues
Chinese people are always taught to respect the elderly. Offering your seat to them on the bus and subway is an unwritten rule.
But not all young people buy that.
"We're always asked to give up seats to the seniors, even if we are not sitting on the seats reserved for them. In some cases, I have no problem with them, but some really appear arrogant. If they don't respect us, why should I treat them nicely?" asked Beijinger Liu Yang, 28, who spends about 90 minutes on the bus every morning.
