Doctors in Beijing will have no limitations on how many local institutions they can work for when a new plan made by the city's health bureau comes into effect.
According to the new plan, which is awaiting approval by the National Health and Family Planning Commission, doctors registered in Beijing won't be constrained to work in only three local hospitals, as the current regulations stipulate.
Zhong Dongbo, deputy director of the city's health bureau, said he hopes lifting the limit will attract more talent from top public hospitals to grassroots or private medical institutions, thus attracting more patients to these institutions and alleviating the workload on large hospitals.
