Jiangsu province will release new college entrance exam policies before August, according to local educational authorities.

The principles of reform have been established and details will be unveiled after the Ministry of Education reveals its general reform, Ju Qin, director of the Jiangsu provincial education examination authority, said during the two sessions.

According to the ministry, major changes may be introduced to the gaokao, or college entrance exam, including removing the English test, introducing comprehensive evaluations and allowing students several chances to sit exams during the year.
