Science research funding focused

A State Council executive meeting on Wednesday published new reforms on the management of the country's State science and technology funds.

According to a statement by the State Council, the central government will establish a blacklist of researchers who repeatedly apply for funds to finish a single project. The move, it said, will help ensure that funding for research projects are being used properly.

The central government also defined the key sectors that will receive government support in the future, including high-tech research and research into major technologies that benefit society.
