Rouhani cautiously optimistic
Chances of success in the Geneva 2 talks that aim to resolve the crisis in Syria are slim, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said on Wednesday.
"We will be happy if the talks achieve (good results), but we are less hopeful about it," Rouhani told reporters before leaving Teheran to take part in the annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.
Iran seeks to fight terrorism, establish peace and stability in the region and help Syrians end the civil conflict, he said, expressing his hope that the conference on Syria will succeed.
However, he added that he does not see sustainable signs for eradicating terrorism through this conference.
