Industry flying high at Zhengzhou airport zone
First of its kind in nation had 43% revenue growth in 2013
Despite a sluggish growth nationwide, an airport economic zone in Henan province's Zhengzhou city, the first of its kind in China, maintained a robust growth momentum in 2013. Zhang Yanming, the zone's administrative committee chief, said at a recent conference.
The Zhengzhou Comprehensive Experimental Zone for Airport-based Economy generated 174 billion yuan ($28 billion) in revenue last year, a year-on-year increase of 42.6 percent. Revenue from electronic information industry accounted for 70.2 percent.
