Export outlook brightens for firms in Pearl River Delta

Exporters in the Pearl River Delta, a major Chinese manufacturing and trade region, expect export value to rebound in months ahead after February's sharp drop.

Inquiries from overseas buyers rose markedly since early March as demand for Chinese goods recovered after the Spring Festival, according to Zhang Xingming, general manager of the Huidong Youme Shoes Factory.

In the previous two months, especially February, business for the factory with around 20 workers in Huizhou, Guangdong province, had declined dramatically, Zhang said.
