President Xi Jinping wrapped up his nine-day tour of Latin America on Wednesday. The first stop was Brazil, where he attended the sixth BRICS leaders' meeting, followed by a formal state visit. He then went to Argentina, Venezuela and Cuba. On the tour, Xi met with political leaders and secured a series of cooperation agreements. It was his second visit to Latin America since taking office. Last year he toured Mexico, Costa Rica, Trinidad and Tobago. Chinese trade with Latin America has grown rapidly in recent years, reaching $261.6 billion in 2013. China is now the second-largest trading partner of many countries, including Argentina and Cuba, and has been Brazil's largest since 2009.
