Universities put under public scrutiny

By Zhao Xinying | China Daily | Updated: 2014-07-31 06:56

The Ministry of Education has required universities nationwide to publish detailed information on 10 key domains of operation, including recruitment, personnel and financial transactions.

The ministry published the instruction on Tuesday and it will come into force in October.

The move - intended to put universities under enhanced public scrutiny - comes after a series of scandals, including cases where recruitment officers have taken bribes.
