Luxury hotels diversify in a new age of tourism
Industry adjusts to suit growing middle class family travel market, Li Fusheng reports.
Hoteliers are poised to shift their focus from luxury to mid-scale hotels in China amid worries that the industry's glamour days are over in the second largest economy.
"We are now in the new age of mass tourism and leisure travel and I hope the hotel industry can work to meet those demands," said Dai Bin, president of the China Tourism Academy, at the 2014 Asia Hotel Forum held in Beijing in early September.
