Yunnan Impression Show, also called Dynamic Yunnan, is a grand and unique dance musical that richly depicts the strong flavor of the life of the ethnic groups in Southwest China. It tells stories about the universe, nature, culture, the pursuit for the origins of life, and the wish for everlasting life, in a form that combines the beauty of tradition with modernity. The performance reorganizes the essence of original rural songs and dances, and the classics of Chinese folk dance, and successfully demonstrates the rich ethnic colors of Yunnan. With its blend of the original and sacred rural dances and the visual illusion of time and space, the performance creates a world of reality and fiction. The Impression of Yunnan ushers in the birth of a new form of stage art in China. The famous dancer Yang Liping, who choreographed and produced the performance, is also the director and star.
