Beijing opens four subway lines

Beijing began trial operations on four new subway lines on Sunday in its latest effort to ease the city's traffic jams.

The new lines have increased the total subway length of Beijing to 527 kilometers, a 13.3 percent year-on-year increase.

The new lines include the second phase of Line 6, Line 7, the eastern section of Line 14 and the western section of the current Line 15.
