Lighthouses to shine on South China Sea

New facilities will assist shipping safety in busy waterways used for transportation and fishing

China has begun to construct two multifunctional lighthouses in the South China Sea to improve navigational safety, the Ministry of Transport said on Tuesday.

The ministry hosted a groundbreaking ceremony for the construction of a lighthouse on Huayang Reef of the Nansha Islands on Tuesday morning, according to a statement sent to China Daily.
