US fertility clinic in talks to offer egg freezing services through Alibaba Web portal

A reproductive clinic in Los Angeles wants to reach affluent Chinese women by promoting its egg-freezing technology on Juhuasuan.com, Alibaba's group-buying website.

Southern California Reproductive Center is engaged in talks with Juhuasuan about bringing Chinese women to the United States for egg collection, following the website's recent successful sperm-donation program that connected more than 22,000 donors with sperm banks through online bookings over three days last month.

It shows there is great potential to develop online-to-offline commerce in the medical and healthcare fields, said Su Yu, a marketing specialist with Juhuasuan.
