Mainland drama finds TV heaven in Taiwan

In the latest example of cross-Straits TV success, Nirvana in Fire, or Langyangtai in Chinese, a hit period drama from the mainland, is enjoying similar popularity in Taiwan.
The tale of revenge and political struggle among the princes of an ancient Chinese kingdom is being aired daily by the Chinese Television System.
Since the first of the 54 episodes of was shown on Nov 3, the series has consistently had one of the top three prime-time audience ratings in Taiwan. It even maintained high ratings on Tuesday and Wednesday, when it went up against live baseball games.
