An international team of scientists identified two thrushes by their different songs

After the discovery of the Sichuan Bush Warbler (Locustella chengi), which was published in May, two new bird species found in China have been identified by a team of international ornithologists and added to the country's list of birds that already exceeds 1,450 species.

One of these, which breeds in northeastern India and adjacent parts of China, is new to science, and has been named the Himalayan Forest Thrush (Zoothera salimalii). The other is only known to breed in Sichuan province, and has been named in English after the province - the Sichuan Forest Thrush (Zoothera griseiceps).
