The 12th Beijing-Tokyo Forum will be held in the Japanese capital in late September, the China International Publishing Group has announced.

Twelve members of the forum's executive committee, including Zhao Qizheng, former chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference, and Yasushi Akashi, former UN undersecretary-general, met in Beijing on Thursday and exchanged views on topics for discussion.

Since its founding in 2005, the forum, jointly organized by China International Publishing Group and Japanese non-profit think tank The Genron NPO, has become a nongovernmental platform for high-level dialogue between China and Japan.
