A moment in time: Breakfast near Tiffany's
Chinese are looking for more diversity in breakfast. The photo (above) shows a breakfast stall on a street in East China's Jiangsu province in 1985.
Fast forward to September and you will see how a restaurant (below) in downtown Shanghai, which serves Taiwan-style dishes, is attracting customers despite the relatively higher prices of food items. In 2015, Taoyuan Village achieved online fame and opened its branches in Beijing and Shanghai near shops selling luxury goods. Its dining atmosphere and refined table settings are trendy enough to be followed by others in the business.
