Commitment to bolster link with Russia affirmed

China and Russia called for further connection of the China-led Belt and Road Initiative and the Russia-led Eurasian Economic Union on Saturday.

The pledge was made during a bilateral meeting between President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin as they attended the annual APEC meetings in Lima, Peru.

Xi said the development strategies of China and Russia should be connected, and the construction of the initiative and union should be synergized.
